the CERN LHC experiment. it both fascinates me and gives me nightmares. i've been following this for a few years now and we are getting close to seeing it run for the first time. they will be shooting a few protons down the pipe sometime in August. the real fun will start somewhere around the end of the year when they will attempt to smash a few protons together. it's a fascinating project that Europe has taken on and i wish i could get there to see it.
